STRIP V. 2012 Maarssenseweg, Vleuten Masterplan recreationpark Concept design |
The plot includes three zones that are linked with the strip. At the lake a plan is made for a windmill to facilitate a restaurant. Along the strip an orchard of different kinds of fruit will supply the restaurant. In the middle zone bungalows will integrate with the rural landscape. The strip ends in the garden of the farmhouse. Post mills are used for drainage. As the location is in the polder, the typology of the post mill suits the location best. It will take part of the existing post mill-assembly. The post mill includes a wind turbine to supply energy for the restaurant and bungalows. The bungalows, like haystacks, are raised above the grounds and spoil none of the natural features and thus preserve the qualitative continuities of the natural base. |
